ø 64 mm Opalglide flat burrs
64 mm flat burrs in steel with Ceado Opalglide technology: combines nano-coating with special mechanical processing to increase smoothness across the entire burr surface.
Specific geometry designed for various filter systems: from Aeropress to V60, batch
brew, and French Press.
The Opalglide system not only provides more defined flavor, it also supports RDT
technique for eliminating static without oxidizing the burrs.
Lifespan up to 400 kg depending on coffee and roast style.
The production process of Ceado burrs
01 Machining and shaping
It all begins with high-alloy steel bars of selected quality, cut into raw discs according to the required diameter (50, 64, 83 mm). On twin-spindle robotic lathes and Ceado’s customized machines, each disc is processed to create holes, parallel surfaces, and the unique toothed geometry that will define the aromatic profile in the cup.
02 Heat treatments
To achieve optimal hardness, the burrs are hardened at over 1000°C and cooled in oil or through cryogenic treatment at -70°C. The subsequent grinding process removes thermal deformations, ensuring perfect flatness and parallelism between the grinding surfaces.
03 Finishes and coatings
Ultrasonic cleaning, brushing, and precision lapping bring flatness down to the micron. Special coatings (Opalglide, Red Speed, DLC, Titanium Nitride) improve smoothness, reduce friction, and enhance durability or cup performance according to specific requirements.
04 High-precision alignment
Ceado ensures perfect perpendicularity of the rotation axis to the burrs by controlling three key factors: surface leveling, burr pair parallelism, and perpendicularity to the motor shaft. This guarantees consistent performance even after burr replacement.
Burrs are the heart of flavor. At Ceado, we design and manufacture each burr in-house, with focus on the desired aromatic coffee profile while ensuring perfect integration between grinder and burr. Ceado Burrs Machinery is a unique place, entirely dedicated to burrs: here, the selection of the purest steels meets ultra-precise mechanical processing and specialized coatings that define performance and durability.
